We are a small friendly team run by two publishing experts with a combined experience of over 60 years.

Founded in 2019 First Press Editions was set up by John Stimpfig and Ian Mitchell to provide the best custom publishing service to wine producers around the world.

JOHN STIMPFIG

John is a multi award-winning wine writer and editor. During his 30 year career, John has written for a range of international newspapers, magazines and websites about wine and wine marketing. He was a Contributing Editor to both Decanter and the Financial Times before joining Decanter as its Content Director. His role centred on editorial strategy, leading the team and commissioning writers from around the world for Decanter's website and magazine.

IAN MITCHELL

Ian brings his expertise in production, print buying and knowledge of every stage of the print and design process from 30 years publishing experience at Pan Macmillan, part of one of the largest global publishers, where he was an executive board director. Skilled at negotiation with exceptional commercial acumen, Ian monitors and manages every part of the production process to ensure the highest quality product is delivered for each client.
